 "Works great!!" 2009-12-02

Work great!!

Installation CD is kind of goofy but got it working anyway.

I think it was a good deal, I'm very happy with gear!!

 "Advoid...Especially on a Mac" 2009-11-29
By Gabriel Goldwasser
Very disappointed. Bought this for a new PC which didn't have a wireless card. The router lost connection often, and would assign all Mac/iPhones ip addresses which weren't compatible. Went without internet for a couple of days because of trying this, and after looking online I discovered that this problem wasn't isolated. Beware, and avoid at all costs if you're on a Mac or use any Apple products.

"Router works, adapter won't log onto Internet in Windows 7 64-bit" 2009-11-19
By Robert A. Morin (Cleveland, OH, USA)
Okay, so I bought this router and adapter kit so I could do internet on my new desktop. I have my router set up by my home theater, whilst my gaming rig is on the side of my bed. I don't want to trip over an ethernet cord when I want to surf the web, or do multiplayer. The software that Netgear includes is great, it installs the software, but when it comes to trying to detect the adapter, no can do, and it IS in the USB slot. I uninstalled the software the CD had, and looked for the most updated drivers Netgear had for the adapter with compatibility for Windows 7 64-bit. However, to my chagrin, it is for the adapter WPN111, not WPN111v2, which this is, and the setup was completely different. Installed that software version 3.0 in here, it installed, the USB adapter lit up, but nothing came about with it being detected. Could this be due to Windows 7 not recognizing this adapter at all? Weird. Guess I'll have to trip over that dumb cable to be on the internet now...Oh well.

EDIT: Actually the drivers do claim to be installed, it's the Smart Wizard that's not compatible with Windows 7, that I know of. Somebody clarify how to get a stable setup. I may have to try this install with the CD version again. Yep, the adapter still can't be found, even tho it has been connected into a USB port. It's a cheap adapter, anyway, might look into an internal PCI adapter instead.

 "Easiest setup ever!" 2009-11-09
By Douglas C. Bumgardner (Chicago, IL USA)
It almost took longer to open the package than to set this up! The automated install disk made it so easy that a grandparent could do it.

 "Simple setup and use" 2009-07-20
By Charles Luke (NJ)
Just like the title explains. Easy and quick setup within 15 minutes of opening the box. I followed the PDF instructions from attached CD to manually install on my custom vistax64 premium computer. Connection and range from router to laptop is suberb.
