This product is an absolute MUST tool for IT types that have to work with a mix of old and new hardware. The multiple interfaces have worked flawlessly with the 10 different drives I have attached so far.

I would not recommend it for casual users looking to repurpose an old drive for external storage use. Use an external case. There is no physical support for the interface connection beyond the connection itself so things could break/short out easily.

Great little device that I never knew existed until I went to Microcenter looking for a hard drive enclosure. I have a bunch of IDE (PATA) hard drives that I need to transfer stuff from a SATA hard drive. Anyways, I needed PATA and SATA hard drive hook-ups so I could transfer stuff to another computer. Enclosures are expensive and buying two would have been murder. So this gizmo is a lifesaver. It allows you to have use either SATA or PATA as external hard drives. And it allows you to do this very cheaply. All cords come with it. Also the instructions are short and simple (and important to read). I couldn't have asked for a better device.

The one downside is that you can't truly enclose your hard drives. They are basically unsurrounded so you may not want to use this device for a permanent external hard drive. But for temporary transferring, it's great.
