I was forced in the review to give 1 star to this worthless device (I tried to leave it empty). Against my better judgment I ordered the device even after all my research showed it to have lots of problems. But I thought that by now (March 2010) IOGear would have worked out the kinks and would have drivers (none since 2008). I WAS WRONG. Even though a lot of other devices Vista drivers install and work fine in Windows 7 IOGear's does not and after all these months with Win7 on the market there are no Window 7 drivers. Seems to me IOGear has became stagnant and either cannot or will not support their devices. This is the second device in one month from IOGear that has been defective (4-Port HDMI Switch) and their tech support is as bad as their products (you can tell from their responses they don't even bother reading the inquiry). Never again will I purchase anything with the IOGear name and I certainly will not recommend their products to my customers. Needless to say I am terribly disappointed with IOGear products and their lack of support. The only good thing that came out of this is how easy Amazon makes it to return worthless products when the manufacturer descriptions are misleading. Compatibility mode didn't work either.

I bought this installed it and got the same "certificate out of date" message as the other review said but when i called tedh support after sitting on hold for 10 minutes they routed me to voice mail. Thats right I sat on hold for ten minutes to talk to the voice mail after repeating the process and leaving another message I have come to the realizatoin that they are terrible at tech support and sent it back. Oh and by the way I still have not recieved a call back from the "24/7" tech support line and its been 2 days.

I bought this item to extend usb use to my conference table which is no more than 5 foot away, It could not connect to hub. I setup this device per the CD given and all programs installed properly, but when trying to use for first time got error code 25 certificate out of date. Mind you why, when you buy a device brand new you dont expect this error. Called tech support and you have to download the setup file again >35Mb and re-instal I am certain that everyone will have to do this as I had no problems with installation, and the tech support guy new too quickly what the problem was. The great thing about tech support is there was less than 15 seconds on response.

The Product does work good @ 3 feet away but the further away from the device the transfer rate slows then quits at around 4 foot.

I needed this mostly to connect to hard drives from anywhere in my small office area. Works fine. I use it up to 10 feet away from the hub, all the range I need. My external hard drives work through the hub with no problem. I rate it high for making things more convenient, giving me a no-wire connection to storage from anywhere I happen to be working.

Also, I had a question about the "associated" process to link up the transmitter and the usb hub. I called IOGear and poured a coffee, figuring I'd be on hold for a while, as is common with tech support around the world. But to my surprise, I was talking to a tech in less than a minute. True story. Your opinion of the hub will depend on exactly what you need it for and your expecations of range.

Installation seemed fine on Vista 32 bit. Had trouble connecting webcam but might have been my fault. Don't expect to put usb hub in another room!!! Box says 30 ft, experience says 6ft through no walls. Might work OK if all items are plugged into the HUB on the same desk as the computer but then what's the point of it being wireless? One cable from a wired hub under the desk would be better than under desk hub with this GIANT usb adaptor. Waste of $.

I bought this unit because I saw it operating at a customer's meeting room and it was excellent displayed on a Sony 52" LCD, 1080p. IOGEAR's technical customer service spent almost an hour with me trying to get it to work. The unit worked very well displaying on a 19" LCD computer monitor but not my Toshiba 52"LCD 1080p. When I hard wire to the VGA connector using a VGA cable it displays but only if I am displaying 800 X 600 pixels - 1280 X 1024 will not display. The IOGEAR has a default setting that will not interface with my Toshiba and the technician could not override the auto setting that is not 4:3 ratio.As of this date the unit is not giving me the results that I had expected.

Just bought this and tried to install on my Windows 7 laptop eventhough there are 64 bit drivers for Vista. The install fails with a message that says it will not install on the machine. Called IOGear support and they said straight up that it will not work with Windows 7. They also said that they could not get drivers to work with Windows 7 and would probably come out with a new product for Windows 7. This has been my first bad experience with Windows 7. Hope there are no more!



My low rating relates only to Windows 7 use since I have not tried the product with Vista or XP.

This product is slow to display and require reboot after installation. I purchased this for the boardroom projector after reading some good reviews and some not so good. I wasn't going to be using this for Audio so just as long as the video works I would have been happy.



The installation process takes a while. Before you think it's my computer, it is not. After the installation completed, it required a reboot! I didn't think anything of it until someone was ready to do a demo and have all his slides ready to go. If the reboot isn't require after a driver installation, this product would have been OK.

I purchased this product wishing that it will work with my Magic Jack so I can keep the phone and fax at its current location and not have to move it near or next to my computer to save money on phone bills. First, the driver and installation CD is worthless. I have Vista 64bit and I kept choosing Vista 64bit installation, nothing, wouldn't let me do it. Picked 34 bit just to see what will happen. Loads, but installation kept failing. Went on line, downloaded directly from the site, ok, install, ok, got it to pair. Disconnected and walked it over to the phone location, no walls in between, about 15-20 feet away, signal dropped right away. Moved it around; no signal. Only when the hub is less than 10 feet away with no obstructions what so ever, then the signal will pick up. What's the point? Secondly, with the averaging price of $55-100, this is the most costly product out there. I was completely stunned by the price I paid and it's lack luster performance in terms of range, forget having to make Magic Jack work with this thing, couldn't even get over the fundamental flaw in this device. If I could only have given it ZERO stars. Stay away! If IOGear wants to charge this much for a wireless USB hub, they should at least make it work better than this.

Set up was ok, but performance was not so good. Cannot really play any video that well, especially HD. Distance was very short, had to be within 5-7 feet. Disconnected a lot.



Returned it and bought the Warpia adaptor that is similar but not as bulky (no big antennas), has HDMI connection as well as VGA and ended up working much better with much lower cost too. Can go accross my large living room and into kitchen with laptop watching 720p HD video to my 52" Flat panel. Much better. Warpia Wireless PC to TV/Projector Display Converter Kit

We hoped this would be an easy, reliable solution for installing a monitor about 5 feet from a classroom computer station. Unfortunately, it seems to have a very limited range. With the 5ft we're trying to use it, it cuts in and out regularly. Some days it'll be fine for hours on end, but other days it won't come on at all. Because of this, I'm wondering if it's experiencing interference from something - maybe other wireless devices. At some point I'm going to try mounting the dongle higher using a USB extension to see if that helps.

I will preface this review by saying that my goal is typically to eliminate wires and cords wherever possible. I recently bought a new all-in-one computer and all of my other peripherals (printer, external hard drive) are connected wirelessly. When I originally thought about buying this my entire goal was to try to minimize wires in my home. I live in an apartment and did not want cables running from my computer to my TV. However, the unit itself creates an entire mess of wires and power cords that I did not anticipate. Perhaps if I were using this for another function it would be ok but for what I want, a clean organized way to transmit from my computer to my TV this does not do it for me.

The product was a little tricky to install but after it was complete the laptop running VISTA worked great. However, we needed to upgrade to Win7 since we were going to teach Win7 and the drivers do not support Win7. We then had to purchase long cables so that we could teach the class. We will now hope for an availability of Win7 drivers to supoort the wireless VGA unit.

Don't waste your time and money.

The video portion of it works 'ok'. (Good, not Great)

Very CPU intensive, even on a fairly new laptop. Couldn't do fullscreen.



Wasted one evening trying to get the audio receiver to 'sync' up with

the USB transmitter. Barely got it to work. (Laptop running XP).

The next days, it didn't work anymore.



Tried installing the whole thing on a different laptop. This time, on Vista.

Same damn thing. Video was 'ok', sound was not working. The audio receiver couldn't sync up.

Uninstalled everything. Reinstalled with the latest greatest drivers from iogear's website.

Absolutely no improvement. Read thru all the FAQ, Troubleshooting Guides, googled everything, etc...

Wasted three nights trying to set up that gizmo.... Packed up everything and sent it back.



BUY A SIMPLE GOOD OLD 25 VGA CABLE WITH AUDIO. It doesn't require any convoluted installation, no drivers,

no sound issues, takes 30 seconds to install and it will allow fullscreen display on your big screen TV....

$20 instead of $200.....



This product is a great idea, on paper, but unfortunately, this one from IOGear is not ready yet...

I just moved from a house to an apartment and decided there should be a way to cancel cable and just watch Hulu on my 50" plasma for free. I researched online and found this product to have the highest customer rating, so I bought it. I spent an enlightening hour on the phone with their tech support, and here's some things you should know. My apartment is 740sq ft. My computer is located just around a corner and exactly 24 feet from my TV.

1st: the product WILL NOT WORK with Windows 7. They're working on the issue. Yeah, great.

2nd: when they say 30 foot max distance, they mean it and even that is stretching the truth.

3rd: when they don't say anything about REQUIRING a direct line of sight, they are omitting facts. I had to hold the USB piece in mid air with a direct line of sight to the TV and it still only had 2 orange bars (should have 5 green).

4th: other wireless devices WILL interfere with reception, even at different frequencies. The tech told me this. My wireless router was blamed for the choppy video coming across to the TV.



I even hooked it up to my netbook and placed it 12 feet from the TV-- video was still choppy. Bottom line, if you're looking to watch video from the internet on your TV wirelessly, you are ahead of your time. Maybe in a few years someone will figure it out. Iogear is not that someone. I returned for a refund, and Amazon was, as always, absolutely wonderful.
